Madawa Gamage
Logistics Coordinator • Cameraman • Interpreter

Madawa is a true gem within the SavingGanesh.org team. With an uncanny ability to get us to the right place at the right time, he is the ultimate “doer”—the person who makes things happen. His courage and commitment are unmatched: whether filming just feet away from wild, marauding elephants at night or standing near rangers as they prepare to tranquilize a dangerous bull, Madawa puts himself on the line to tell the real story.

Before joining SavingGanesh nearly a decade ago, Madawa spent ten years as the lead cameraman and producer for Sri Lanka’s top commercial film company, Vision Works. He was their go-to expert for both production and gear. But it was his deep love for wildlife that led him to shift paths and dedicate his talents to conservation.

We are deeply grateful for his fearless spirit, steady presence, and unwavering dedication to the elephants—and to our mission.

Erik McFarland
Advisor • Field Contributor • Vibrational Facilitator

Erik brings a unique blend of grounded leadership, creative vision, and compassionate presence to SavingGanesh.org. Based in Bend, Oregon, he actively participates in our fieldwork—joining veterinarians and wildlife rangers on the front lines of elephant conservation. Whether helping strategize global outreach efforts or lending a hand in physical projects on the ground, Erik is deeply engaged in both the practical and visionary aspects of our mission.

In addition to his behind-the-scenes work advising our founder and team, Erik co-leads at events and festivals, helping carry our message to wider audiences. His background in sound healing adds another dimension to his contribution; his “Sonic Resonance Sessions” with crystal and metal bowls offer powerful moments of stillness and reflection in the midst of our often intense field work.

Erik’s commitment to wildlife, community, and conscious action makes him an integral part of our team—and we’re lucky to have him walking this path with us.
